Two kinds of licence

Maintenance is what entitles a permanent licence to online updates. It runs for one year from the licence date and can be renewed each year; the renewal is recorded on our side and your key stays the same — the plug-in picks the new date up at its next daily check-in. When maintenance lapses the plug-in keeps working (AI included); only Check for Updates stops, and it tells you the date it lapsed.
Activating
- Open Product Registration (in the plug-in's menu, or Plug-In Manager → View Info).
- Send us the Company GUID and AutoCount Product ID shown there (both have Copy buttons).
- Paste the key we issue and click Activate. Activation checks in with our licence server, so the PC needs internet at that moment; afterwards the plug-in works offline for up to 30 days between check-ins.
The form shows the licence type and, for a permanent licence, the maintenance date.
Reminders
On login the plug-in reminds you when a temporary licence or the maintenance is within 14 days of running out, or has already lapsed, and offers to open Product Registration.
Moving to another Account Book or PC
A key is bound to one Account Book (its Company GUID) and one AutoCount Product ID. It follows the book to any PC. A different book needs its own key.
