Symptom. The balance shown in Stock Item Maintenance differs from the Stock Balance report or inquiry.
Cause 1 — future-dated transactions. Stock Item Maintenance shows the balance including every transaction ever saved, with no date filter, while reports are filtered by date. A document saved with a wrong (future) date makes the two disagree.
Check: run the Stock Balance report or inquiry with the date set to the end of the year and compare again. If a document carries the wrong date, correct it and save.
Cause 2 — inconsistent stock data. Abnormal input or an interrupted process can leave the stored balance out of step with the transactions.
Fix: open AutoCount Accounting Management Studio → Data Consistency → Fix Inconsistent Stock Balance Quantity Problem, run it, and click OK when it finishes. Take a backup first.
